As AI adoption accelerates across sales and marketing, evaluating how AI systems perform on real-world go-to-market tasks has become increasingly important. ZoomInfo has introduced GTM Bench, a versioned benchmark designed to assess large language models (LLMs) and AI agents on practical GTM workflows, including prospecting, account enrichment, lead scoring, and identifying decision-makers.
According to ZoomInfo, traditional AI benchmarks primarily measure reasoning capabilities within predefined datasets. GTM Bench instead evaluates AI systems on tasks commonly performed by sales, marketing, and revenue operations teams, where success depends on accessing accurate, current, and verifiable business data.
Version 1 of the benchmark assesses more than 20 go-to-market jobs across four systems and three AI models. ZoomInfo also published its methodology, sample tasks, and grading criteria to promote transparency and allow external scrutiny.
Each GTM Bench result is evaluated against work completed by senior GTM professionals using two independent scoring metrics.
The first, Answer, measures how much of the requested task the AI system successfully completes. The second, Grounding, evaluates whether the returned information can be traced to real and current sources. According to ZoomInfo, responses that confidently present incorrect information receive negative scores.
The company states that benchmark rubrics were designed by GTM and RevOps practitioners, with competing systems evaluated using their best available configurations.
In the inaugural benchmark, ZoomInfo reported that GTM.AI achieved the highest GTM Bench Index, scoring 77 compared with 47 for Apollo, 36 for Exa, and 31 for open-web search.
According to the company, GTM.AI completed 98% of the evaluated work product while returning 478 verifiable records per 1,000 contacts. ZoomInfo also reported that the platform delivered the lowest execution cost per task at $0.79.
The company further stated that, across the same 1,000-contact evaluation, competing systems collectively returned 720 incorrect phone numbers.
ZoomInfo describes GTM Bench as a vendor-run benchmark and notes that it openly publishes areas where its advantage is limited, including pure copywriting tasks and scenarios involving proprietary CRM data that external systems cannot access.
Future releases of GTM Bench are expected to include multi-step agentic workflows, international datasets, and additional evaluation of owned-data environments. The benchmark will also be updated following major AI model releases.
ZoomInfo has invited other data providers and AI agent developers to submit their systems for evaluation, with results planned for inclusion on the public leaderboard using the same testing methodology.
ZoomInfo, the all-in-one AI GTM platform, enables sales, marketing, and customer success teams to execute their go-to-market strategy with confidence. Powered by the industry's most comprehensive B2B data, including more than 100 million companies, 500 million contacts, and billions of signals, ZoomInfo delivers the intelligence, automation, and integrations that modern revenue teams need to identify, engage, and convert their best buyers.
